Vortex Optics Adds New Defender-ST Red Dot Sight -The Firearm Blog

There is a new micro red dot from Vortex Optics, the Defender-ST. It has a lot in common with the Defender-CCW, but has a DeltaPoint Pro footprint. This new model is not just for handgun use, but would be at home on a shotgun or as a 1x optic in conjunction with a variable scope. Let’s take a look a the features.

Vortex Optics @ TFB:

Like the -CCW model, the Defender-ST has a Fast-Rack surface around the lens for racking on surfaces for one-handed manipulations. Brightness adjustments are controlled by buttons on both sides of the optic. The -ST weighs in at 1.48 ounces, which is slightly heavier than the 0.95-ounce -CCW.

The Defender-ST runs on a 2032 battery, which sits in a top-mounted compartment so it can be changed without unmounting the optic. Both windage and elevation adjustments are 1 MOA per click. Vortex offers two reticle options in the Defender-ST, a 3-MOA dot and a 6-MOA dot. Both have a $469 MSRP and a minimum advertised price of $329.
